A collaborative exhibition

For its first temporary exhibition, the Mariana Museum proposed an ambitious artistic and cultural education project to the teaching team of the Collège de Lucciana, supported by the management of the establishment, the rectorate, the Drac and the Collectivité de Corse. From the start of the 2018 school year, we wanted to involve the middle school students educated in our town in the adventure of creating a Museum of France promoting a major archaeological site in Corsica. Thus, the first temporary exhibition curatorship was jointly led by the museum team, the teachers and their students. More than 50 students from 6th to 3rd grade supervised by 4 teachers contributed to this development which, due to the health crisis, was deployed over 3 school years. This co-construction work made it possible to increase exchanges between the two institutions and to learn from each other's experiences.

Fruitful interviews
Several guided tours of the museum/research center site and the archaeological site were offered to students as well as a round table at the college on careers in archeology and museums.
From these meetings between professionals and students, projects emerged and their productions were carried out both during school and after-school hours.
The middle school students' work was then entrusted to the Creab Design team to transform it into an accessible and fun exhibition.
